Easy Interface. Nice remote and nice that the remote snaps to the bottom of the player for easy transport. Interface is simple and easy to understand. Will also play slideshows of Jpegs and if you have and mp3 file in that folder it plays the music at the same time.

A little hum but not much more than the DVR I have that sits beside it. Doesn't play quicktime or. Would have given 5 of 5 if it did. That's in the manual. That's also a nice feature, if you have a bunch of small files in one folder just press play and it will play the entire contents of the folder.

Pros: This is a super deal especially after the mail in rebate. It's also portable so you can bring it over to a friends and bring the entertainment wherever you need to. It's also great as a picture slideshow. The interface for the player looks great. Easy to use. It also saves a ton of time as you no longer have to wait for slow DVD burners to burn, let alone find out that what you waited 10 minutes to burn be corrupt and you have to spend money on another DVD.

This was the hit of my holiday shopping as everyone I got this for loved the product. I even got one myself and have been letting people know about it t. Also when you use it as a player, when you browse into a folder it will autoplay the first item in that folder, but all you do is stop and it will open back up in the folder you want to browse in.

Pros: Solid sleek construction, flexibility, and ease of use are it's strong points. It also ships with an easy to use manual that explains all of the different playback modes etc. The fact that the remote has a home in the base which will help keep it from getting lost is a plus.

I was searching around for a simple external high capacity HD and decided to take a chance on this. I'm very glad that I did! It works great and does everything it claims to, and fast.

Overall Review: The drive ships with composite video out left-right audio and the single yellow video as the default setting. This is fine but when you step through the menu and enable component red-blue-green video plugs it switches output to that mode making your screen go blank.

Swap your monitor to the component input and you're back in business. However, if you then carry the drive over to a friend's house and all they have is composite, then you'll be hard pressed to get it to work with the composite video out essentially now dead until you can see it and swap it back in the menu. Just keep this in mind if you end up carrying it around.

Pros: Simple menus, very responsive, fast startup time, thin remote, remote snaps in to bottom of enclosure, small size for what it does. Does not officially support Linux.
