Aperture 2 trial

Going to get it now. Tether is. I just bought academic version in jan. It's generally not worth getting the academic version of Apple pro software in the long term, as it is explicitly non-upgradeable and they do warn you of this. I was warned by my Apple trainer to buy the regular version of Final Cut Express, as the academic discount is much less than the cost of upgrading. I just checked the academic price for Aperture 2.

Capo2: You could try speaking with Apple UK. Sometimes smooth-talking them can get you the discount. Otherwise it's just plain bad luck.

I imported 10, images just to test it properly. I'm not too keen on a couple of the UI changes, but overall it feels like a new application that works how 1. Really 1. I have the academic version, I went into my local apple store today to ask about this upgrade forgot to mention that I have academic version they explained that with the upgrade it would simply take my whole existing library and switch it into the new aperture.

If I am forced to buy a new version not an upgrade because I'm not eligable for an upgrade what will it do with my existing library? After trying out the trial version tonight I ordered the upgrade online.

The only issue I had with Aperture 1. This is fixed in 2. Now with all the other tools recovery, vibrance, black point and the cleaner interface, I am sold. The dang tether function doesn't work for me.

That's what I get for staying with Pentax for 12 years. When I plug in the cable the camera goes right to PC mode, essentially shutting down the camera functions. Other than that, I think I am ready to move away from Lightroom. It just kills me that Lr has such limited output options. No books, no integration with iLife and iWork, not even output sharpening.

Proggie 14 years ago. Regarding Aperture and Time Machine, according to the updated support article the issue is fixed by Though I'm not sure what the advantage is of backing up Aperture library with Time Machine vs the Vault. I'll have to play around with it and see which is better for me.

Your math is correct, but the price difference between Full and Academic has now narrowed dramatically. Suppose Ap3 comes out. Upgrades after that will favor the Full route.
