Mastercool 71475 universal hydraulic flaring tool set

Highly recommend. These are great flaring tools. When they first came out years ago they were too high for the avg backyard mechanic.

But now they are priced Right. Nice flares made easily , plus those metric bubble flares. This is a precision tool made to last. Better get one!! This tool will save time and money making quick couplers for fuel lines and more. Also making your parts with tubing that does not rust is the way to go.

Been using a similar tool from a friend that he got from the tool truck. This is the same thing, just half price. I love this tool. I run my own garage,so this is in use every day. Its perfect for making new flange on old pipes under cars with one hand.

New club tool? Thread starter H2o Start date Nov 20, Watchers 3. Joined Oct 12, Messages This set allows you to do all kinds of flaring for brake lines, fuel lines.

This kit has advantage of not needing to be in a vice, so you can flare directly on vehicle. I was going to buy this for me, but it is pricey for something i may use very occasionally. How would club feel about buying this for the club with club funds?

We could pick up additional dies as needed. Last edited: Nov 20, It is an awesome kit. It's a bit awkward to use until you get the hang of it, but it makes beautiful flares. It's a bit unwieldy to be using on the vehicle unless you have a ton of space. Napa has a small double flare tool for brake lines that is good for tight spaces.

Ryan, do you have part number of Napa one? And would you recommend getting both? What do you use? The Mastercool Universal kit is the one that Dan F has and he loves it. But I am open to suggestions if anyone wants something better or different.

I've got both. I use the Mastercool one the most. The Napa one is nice for really tight spots. I've also got an assortment of regular flare blocks that I don't use since I got the Mastercool. Here's a link to a video on the Napa one.

What do you say we put a dedicated thread up for members' suggestions for club tools? Or we could change the title to this one. We probably have sufficient funds from the raffle and swap meet to buy a few tools like this that everyone could use at some point.
